Hey guys!

I'm not sure how many of you were around five years ago, but that was the last time I posted, the last time I did a tri, and probably the last time I exercised regularly. I have many excuses, but I'll spare ya. I bought a new pair of running shoes today and hope to get off my butt. I am 30 pounds heavier now, and have a serious junk food addiction.

So I hope to:

1. Get healthy (losing weight is secondary to this - but they should go togother)
2. Probably do a few sprint tris in 2015.
3. Get some good support here - Maybe participate in some challenges
4. Have fun.

Man, I hate new years resolutions...but I guess I just made one.

Happy New Year!

Sometimes I get most exercise climbing back onto the exercise band wagon - sigh.

Welcome back!

Well, it seems somebody fell off the wagon and stranded in lazyville.

One thing I could comment about this is you need to be consistent on what you want. Plan it, do it, and review it. Do not wait for a resolution to start something, now is the best time.

All the best,

N.J.

Welcome back. I've been an infrequent rider on this train, but plan to become a regular again as well.

I have also fallen off the wagon. Life got complicated and stressful and I just couldn't get motivated enough to do anything. I am just now getting back to running/walking and I have signed up for a Zumba class. Good luck in your new journey!

Not to sound corny but you have a new opportunity with each and every decision you make around food.
Took me a lot of tries but recently lost a lot of weight - just found a food plan that I liked enough to follow. Now I've got to stay vigilant about maintenance.
I did it with no exercise, low calorie plan required that. Seems lots of people actually gain weight while training for a tri, so trying to learn from that now that I'm working out. Don't overcompensate thinking you can eat more since you worked out, but don't starve yourself either. Whatever restriction you do for weight-loss should not have anything to do with fueling your body pre, during and post workouts. This can be our year!

New you, new time. Focus on now and what a great journey you are undertaking.
