I haven't thrown any numbers around yet, but I have been about 188 lbs ( 5'11" )for like 4 months, but working more on strength and fitness gains while trying to maintain weight, as to not limit my fitness gains. Recovering from a knee and wrist injury, this was the most important for me.

I'm now comfortable with losing some weight, and have slightly increased volume while keeping calories about the same.

Last 3 mornings I have weighed in at 185.8 lbs 2 days in a row and 185.4 lbs this morning.

I have a 10k race in 5 weeks, and my sprint tri to open the season is in May, so it would be nice to lean up before then! :D

Well, no change this week. Not going to get to worried about it, I had a light workout week and did not eat perfectly this weekend. I will note that when I lost 115lbs I was stuck at 215ish for 2.5 months from Jan-Mar. Something about this weight makes my body hold on to lbs. Once it started up again I did not stop again until 175. Just keep doing what I am doing and see if I can get it going again. One thing to add, my Wife has decided to start Whole 30 this week which is going to be a big help. I do all of the cooking and have been cooking 2 different dinners since 2008 and it can be exhausting at times so I am really looking forward to her eating the same foods I do.

I was hoping for about two pounds per week but while watching my Green Bay Packers play Sunday I had several beers which led to some bad eating choices later in the day. I will try to not let that repeat itself this Sunday.

Go Pack Go!  I was pretty good on Sunday.  I stayed away from the alcohol.  But I did do a hefty amount of snacking.  It was all 'healthy' snacks though.  Then I made an awesome dinner of Moroccan Stew.  I am trying to cut out alcohol, while I wish I could have it in my diet it just doesn't work for me.  Not to say that I wont ever have it but it has to be a truly special occasion.  I am going to miss you my friend!  But alas I want the gains in fitness more.

Justin beer in an integral part of my training program, there are good carbs in beer. My problem is after I have 4 or 5 my will power to not eat junk fades. I am ok after just a couple beers but I am cutting them way back too. I doubt I'll even have any this Sunday, it'll be tough though.

And yes GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday update for me. Weight down a pound! This weeks goal is a minimum of 2 pounds!

I missed lots of my training, mostly for not feeling well enough. Dammit, it has been over a month!!! I am way behind. I hope to feel well enough to get it all in this week. If I can, I think I can still pull a HIM off. I mean, all I am trying to do is beat the cut-off time. So, I got my long swim and my long run in. Today will be long bike but I missed a swim, a run and a brick!!

Nutrition was great! I prepared salads and took them with me while traveling. Ate them all three days. Had an emergency and had to eat fast food. Had a salad at Subway. Dinners were pretty darn good.

This week should be pretty good (fingers crossed). My long run will be the Hot Chocolate run in Atlanta. The only problem may be getting my long bike in on Sunday due to travel time.

How is everyone doing?

Oh... and beer.. I can skip beer. Wine on the other hand. I have been doing pretty darn well on that. Had some this week with travel and that gave me "permission" to have more later in the week. I only had it if I had room in my calorie count for it and kept it within bounds all but one night when I had 3! Better this week with my goal!

Great work!  Achievements like this feel great.  Subway is my go to fast food (I admit I eat it to much!).  But you can really get some lower calorie options.  Especially if you choose a sub with out cheese and condiments like mayo.  You can also load up on the veggies!

I am happy I went to a graduation party last night, a friend of mine just got her Masters degree.  This was a group of friends with which I would usually pound quite a few drinks with (usually to the point of having to crash there).  It was a big party, lots of people TONS of food.  I resisted the urge to have any drinks, while I wasn't at the drunk table, it was awesome to have conversation with all the other people that were there.

I sure ate a lot though, but that's ok.  I ran 16 miles yesterday.

4-Jan: 257.5
11-Jan: 263.5 (+6). I don't know. I'm really hoping the batteries in the scale are dying as it was acting weird.
18-Jan: 260.0 (+2.5). Getting up to speed with training again. Also, nothing (unfortunately) was wrong with my scale.

1/11/15 - 182
1/18/15 - 179.4, moving in the right direction but not sure it's going to stay there. A lot of this week's drop was a result of a really rough week at work and skipping a lot of lunches and then not having any appetite at dinner. Not sustainable. We'll see what happens this week.

I'll chime in. I qualified for the USAT AG Oly championship and I'm doing Racine 70.3. I've put on nearly 15 lbs in the past couple years, with a good 1/2 of that since this fall. If I want to be competitive I need to get the weight down.

I'm on Weight Watchers - I've had success with this program in the past, however the times I've failed is during training for races and not feeling very fueled. Since it's winter and my training is scaled back a bit I thought this would be a great time to lose. My 70.3 training starts March 30 so I have a few months to hit my goal. I'm 5'6" so my BMI range is 118-155...however I have a more athletic build so my body seems to be happiest around the low 140's.

1/3/15 WI - 155
1/10/15 WI - 152.2
1/17/15 WI - 149.4
1/24/15 WI - n/a out of town
1/31/15 WI -
2/7/15 WI -
2/14/15 WI -
2/21/15 WI -
2/28/15 WI -
3/7/15 WI -
3/14/15 WI -
3/21/15 WI -
3/28/15 WI -

Total so far: 5.6 lbs

I have my "doable" goal of 145. My "optimal" goal is 140 and my "dream" goal is 137. A steady 1 lb a week from here on out would get me to 140...but as someone who has been down this road several times before there are inevitable ups and downs.

I leave for a trip to England on Wednesday so I'm a bit apprehensive...I'll be doing a 10K race but fitting in workouts will be tough and I'm sure eating/drinking will be a challenge. My goal is to gain no more than 1 lb on this trip - have clean breakfast/lunches and splurge a bit on dinner and keep my drink limit to 2 a day.

Good luck to everyone in the group!

I can't go without cheese!!

When i DO go though I will typically get a 6 inch, double the meat, no condiments other than mustard, and so many veggies they can barely close the thing.

Monday Check in!!

A little surprised with this number!!

My run is improving still, but as I've lost some weight, my bench and overhead press have dropped slightly.

Will probably hit the trainer today and pump out some more intervals, but a week ago I hot my best ftp test on trainerroad since my knee injury so far!

Looks like everyone is doing awesome so far. It's encouraging to read the successes.

Good news and bad news this week. I am thrilled that I dropped 4 this week, I am going to assume that this is more of a 2 week cumulative that did not show up last Monday morning. I will do cartwheels if I see a 20... something next week since it has been my achilles heel for a while now.

Bad news, I was feeling some strange pain just to the left and middle of my shin bone on my right leg over Christmas. I took off a week and thought little of it as I was really thinking about eating and socializing anyway. Well this last Monday and Tuesday I had great runs, relaxed no heel pain (planter fasciitis) and gaining some confidence that I may have finally licked that. So, on my Thursday run I felt the same pain that I had during Christmas about 1.5 miles in and tried to walk run but gave up because it was not going away. Ended up walking home.

I am really starting to think that I am just trying to outrun my injuries at this point with little to no success. Leading up to my Ironman I had aches and pains over the 5 years of training and weight loss but I never had any injuries that sidelined me for more than a week or so. Now I can't seem to put it together and I am completely frustrated with this whole thing.

Is it too late to get in on this challenge? I'm binging on cookies in my dark basement as I type this. The cold winter really is a demotivator for me (yeah, I know, it's an excuse...)

Anyway, I'm at 153 right now. Last summer while marathon training I was holding steady at 150 and would occasionally dip down to 148 or 149. I'm going to set a goal for myself of getting to 145.

Welcome Ann! PUT DOWN THE COOKIES!

Winter is a byach and it makes most of us want to feed and hibernate. That is a really doable goal.

Who has cookies?  I want some cookies.....

Speaking of cookies Girl Scout cookies are coming soon aren't they.  I usually buy them from our secretaries daughter, I am almost tempted to just give her $20 and not get any cookies.  I have zero and I mean zero self control when it comes to them.

Yes, I thought I saw a blurb on Facebook or somewhere about the ominous start of GS cookie season. At the grocery store where we normally shop, they set up a table in the entrance area that is staffed by adorable little girls hawking their cookies. Impossible to disappoint them...

They do the same at my grocery store, I make it a point to walk as quickly as I can, if they get to say anything to me I am trapped.  Next thing you know I have 5 boxes of thin mints, 5 boxes of lemonades and 100 boxes of the peanut butter ones.

OK, so it sounds like we are all in agreement that we are powerless against Girl Scout cookies??
