And I'm back - been on nights for two weeks and finding a routine has been difficult.

Weight wise I'm not unhappy.... slow progress is better than no progress.

2015/01/21 - 141.5
2015/01/28 - 143.0
2015/02/04 - 144.5
2015/02/11 - 143.0
2015/02/19 - 141.1

Today's weigh in was a surprise - I've been eating a bit too much, not bad, just a bit more than I maybe should, and skipped my workouts yesterday in favour of extra sleep. Working nights has really thrown me off. But all my clothes are fitting better, so I'm inclined to believe the scale may be right.

Starting March 2, I'm attempting the Whole 30 challenge - it's a little drastic for me, but I've noticed I'm really eating too much sugar, and too much high fat dairy, so cutting it all out for 30 days will hopefully break me of the habit and force me to make better (vegetable!) choices. If the side effect is losing a few pounds along the way, so much the better.

I am doing the Whole30 as well, starting this week (Monday). My doc wants me to do it as an elimination diet to see if I have some food intolerances. I tried it in Janurary with some luck, but bailed because I had been so sick, there is no way to determine if food was making me feel better or worse or if it was the flu. Now that I am as close to 100% health-wise as I am gonna get, I am going to try again.

Clothes fitting better is almost better than a different number on the scale.

Well - one more month til spring - so far I am not finding the timing and consistency I had hoped for and am not dropping - "allowing" too much to get in the way. but there is one more month.

The Goal: (-5.5)

4-Jan: 257.5
11-Jan: 263.5 (+6). I don't know. I'm really hoping the batteries in the scale are dying as it was acting weird.
18-Jan: 260.0 (+2.5). Getting up to speed with training again. Also, nothing (unfortunately) was wrong with my scale.
25-Jan: 260.0 (+2.5). No change. Starting MyFitnessPal today. Logging food was such a PITA before, but I need to do this.
1-Feb: 257.5 (+0). Back to my starting point. but up 1.5 from midweek... Need to be stronger on my weekends (Fri+Sat)
8-Feb: 254.0 (-3.5). I have no idea how I'm dropping this much... Yesterday morning I was down to 253.0 (250.0 after my ride ).
15-Feb: 251.0 (-6.5) Okay... this is getting scary. I'm already 1lb past my goal with 6 weeks to go. I'm not starving myself, and eat stupid things... Maybe I've found the balance that works for now.
22-Feb: 249.5 (-8.0) Still moving in the right direction. Paying attention to what I'm shoveling down is really paying off! And I know I can eat better.

Going to Hot Springs, AR next weekend with Amy for our Anniversary. Mom will be staying at our place watching the brood. It'd probably be a good idea to hit it harder and heavier during the week because she got us a room with a hot tub. We're also doing the massage thing (deep tissue, baby!). The scary thing is that three of my favorite bad things to eat are there. 1)Fat Bottom Girls cupcakes, 2)Mint fudge & 3)Saltwater Taffy... It's the trifecta of gastro/diabetic evil!

One more week down and not much lost but I guess I am just going to have to get used to it at this point. I know I feel better eating healthy and need to keep that in mind rather than being stuck on my weight. It could be worse, I did not gain this week so that's good.

Mid week puts me back up to 251. This week has seen a little bit of the stress eating monster making an appearance... I neglected to log a couple of things that I shouldn't have eaten... Time to buckle down and try to get back to net zero for the week. Also, due to weather, Amy and I aren't going out of town this weekend. We're going to have a nice date night, but no weekend of temptation which is a good thing right now.

This has always been the most beneficial part of these threads for me.  Week to week sometimes seems (is) up and down, but it's the overall long term trend that is important.  Excellently portrayed, by the way, in Justin's progress

Thanks!  You're exactly right though.  I have had a few stellar months after being stuck (albeit my own doing, not being honest with myself).  That's what it comes down to with me, the honesty to yourself, what your putting into your mouth, and what you are expending while training.

This week probably won't be a good week.  It was my birthday yesterday and I had quite the indulgence weekend!  Not to worry though, I remember after a 'bad weekend' the scale would read 195lbs.  A lot of it is water retention and will slowly go away over this week.

This month sucked in a lots of ways. I was down 5 pounds then that reappeared. That is without much change in anything at all !!! Really! I am blaming stupid girl-hormones. More training and less whining and I'll be back to losing again I am sure.

249.0 this morning. My weight trend seems to have flipped on me. I used to dip on Wed and gain it back on Sun, and now it's the other way around, lol!

Thanks, it's been a great few months.  Difficult but great.  I have finally stopped kidding myself and doing what I need to do to lose the last of my weight.

I got a food scale and am measuring out portions, a HRM for workouts.  I have also been logging all my foods in MFP.  It can be a royal pain in the arse but it is paying off.

My goal is to be sub 170 for my marathon on May 9th.  This will be 13 pounds lighter then the last marathon I ran.  Excited to see what it does to my time!

Been watching myself much better this week. Mid-week puts me at 245.5. I just stared at it for a couple of minutes before it sank in. Then I double-checked it. Wonder if I can keep the downward trend going until the end of the week...

Most of us have hectic personal and work schedules. In fact, to fit in our training it is often a daily achievement!
