I know what you need !!! There is a drone, that communicates with a wrist band. It follows you and films you. You need that !! (seriously this exists) I say we get a FundMe page going so we can get you one.

I got drone whacked on a run a few weeks back, dang thing hit me in the back of the head.  So count me in the "anti-drone" group.  Or at least in the group of people that believes there should be a class given before someone flies their drone in public.

Yikes! For real!?!?! Yeah I don't imagine it will be long before the drone free for all madness gets dialed back, thank goodness!

My friend is a helicopter flight nurse and said some of idiots flying those things are seriously threatening peoples lives when they are forced to hold up takeoff/landing for emergency flights to/from the ER because a drone is in their airspace.

Yep, it wasn't of any large size, but it certainly took me by surprise.  I merely turned around, picked it up, set it on the fence post, looked at the guy, and turned and kept running.

I can see some challenges in the future, they have been more popular than RC planes from what I can see. And if the thing that hit me had been of any larger size...

I think I may have chosen to impale it on the fence post rather than set.

I was proud of my restraint. But yeah, there were some other thoughts running through my head.

Been reading where they get in the way of things like forest fire fighters too.

Got my wheels in one piece! Frickin airlines. Anyhow the course here is super flat but the coast is beautiful and it's awesome for spectators. Heading down towards the beach there's a road that follows the water line, railroad track after that and then a running trail and then the beach. There are tunnels going under all those roads and tracks so the spectators can easily get to a point to watch the swim or the run course. Looks like the weather is staying around 75. I'm going to get my bike checked in and find some food. Fingers crossed for a good race

Mark's bib number is 1801 and he's through the swim in 1:16 and the first bike split at 39k moving at a brisk 35 km/hr!

Women's pro race should be interesting
And Dirty Harry is in the male pros. He's the guy that tried to rough up Javier in an ITU race

Van Vlerken and Badmann are the only two names I recognize for the women.

Mark is through 75k still holding 35km/hr.  He'll have a ripping fast time if he keeps that up!  The race feed says it's 20 degrees and no wind and the pro bike times are even through all the splits so it doesn't seem like there is any advantage going one direction vs the other.

OMG Badmann is still racing pro? I think she's even older than me. How does she do it?? Assume though that means she's not doing Kona next week (unless she's even crazier than I thought).

Hey all thanks for following me. Big PR day for me, weather was perfect and yeah the bike course is fast. I rode it clean but if I'd latched onto the fop peleton, could've easily been sub 5. I stopped once on the bike to pee... prob could've waited to t2 but it was nice to shake out the legs. I think my avg power (powertap) was only 145w. Wind picked up a tad on the 2nd loop. As for the run, I rolled my ankle pretty good at about the 5km marker Sucks but I got through. My prev swim and bike prs were 1:21 and 5:58 (for real). Prev best race was 12:47 in equally flat Western Australia. Amazing what a few months off work can do for your training.Sorry for the wall of text - posting from my phone. Last note, this venue is just excellent. So pretty. Prob my favorite race so far.

Oh and my previous best *half* IM bike was 2:39. Really worked hard on my position and bike setup this year - everything except time in a wind tunnel.

24 hour mountain bike race this past weekend was a lot of fun.  I went in knowing my limits and just wanted to slowly pick up some experience without totally shattering my confidence or any bones in my body.  Mission accomplished, as well as the primary goal of just having a good time camping out.

I'm pretty sure mountain biking is not ever going to be my "thing," but it's certainly something I wouldn't mind spending a little time on.  Just can't justify a bike purchase for something I'll do maybe 3-4 times a year.  Will definitely be back next year...at least for the party.

Is that why your bike only had one side to the fork?

Ok, how is this for a Kona contest

We take the score of the best male + best female per country, so for example if Rinny comes 1st and Luke McEnzie 3rd, that's 1+3 = 4 for Australia

Lowest country wins

Pick your top 3 in order.

Any takers ?

I'll say

Australia
Canada
UK
