So after a slew of injuries and excuses I am back at it. Post IM Louisville I injured my shoulder which eventually led to surgery then developed Planter Fasciitis so bad my Wife suggested that I buy walker to make it to the restroom in the mornings. Just beginning to swim again with a bit of a funky pop on my fixed shoulder which I have been assured by the Doc is fine. I also stopped running almost completely for 3 months to get my heals working right again. Started back up 4 months ago, mostly on the treadmill for the cushioning and lots of post run stretching and massage which seems to be working.

With that said, I am running pain free for the first time since 2012 and looking to drop this weight I gained sitting around on my duff. Down 10 so far with 35(ish) to go. I don't have any tri's planned this year but I had deferred my Marine Corp Marathon entry last year to 2015 so I am going to focus on this race and maybe sprinkle in a Sprint or Oly at some point just to mix it up and give me an excuse to swim and bike.

It's amazing how quickly you gain weight after going from exercising 12-16 hours a week to 2-3. Not sure I have any desire to ever do another Full IM, mostly because I don't like biking enough to sit on one for 6+ hours. However, I am motivated to get back after these medium distance races. I was thinking I might weigh in here each week to track my progress and keep me accountable.

On On

I cannot get comfortable without the nose of the saddle being tilted down. I have tried many different seats and had two professional fittings, but still have excessive numbness and discomfort.

Finding the right bicycle saddle is often a confusing process of trial and error for cyclists. However, a little education goes a long way, and will perhaps save you some pain and discomfort as well.

In this third segment, Colorado Premier Training goes through several bike position tests to improve on rider efficiency. This was accomplished by varying the saddle height and aerobar width.

When first going aero, your shop should begin by putting you in the least aggressive position. This means the aerobar pads will be almost level or just below the saddle.

After a while on my first longish ride, I noticed that I was getting numb. It’s scary. “Will feeling return?” is the first thing that comes to mind.

The ISM Adamo Racing Saddle is difficult to define. It doesn’t look like a bicycle saddle. It doesn’t mount like a bicycle saddle. And yet, it does feel like a bicycle saddle.

Whether your bike is new, new to you, or you have not been on the bike for a long time, you really should spend some time thinking about how your bike fits you.
