Subject: Weird knee issue
Okay this happens after I ramp up my running, so probably an over use issue, but still curious to what you all think.

Sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes when running I will feel fine for the first two minutes, then I will start to get a pinching pain on the outside of the left knee. This pinch pain feels like it radiates from the inside of the knee but felt on the outside. Then just as that pain comes up, the pain will travel to my left foot and make it feel sort of numb, but still hurt. I have to stop running. Normally as soon as I stop running pace and go back to walking the pain stops completely. Sometimes if go through a walk/run routine for a few minutes then my knee will let me run. Sometimes it doesn't. Other times there is no pain at all and I can do a 10 mile run no problem.

Being on the outside of the knee I am thinking my IT band needs more stretching. I also am thinking that since I am getting numbness, then there is probably some inflammation on a nerve. So I will be stretching my IT band a lot and taking some Advil. Any other advice?

Sounds like it, but rather than run to advil. Get on the more consistent natural anti-inflammatory tip (Turmeric/Ginger/Fish/Healthy Oils)

Woke up at 7am and physically could not walk. Pain was shooting in my knee (almost dropped me to my knees). Later I went to my sports doc. He could not simulate the pain whatsoever.
