Local Hero was brutal.  The pyramids were fine but I was in trouble shortly after.  I managed to pull myself together for the last 3' interval and the sprints, but my top end is completely gone.

Looking forward to tomorrow's easy day, with just The Rookie on the schedule.

I joked that it was the Return of the Living Dead as my legs seemed to come back for Local Hero. They've been nothing more than dead weight hanging off my torso of late. I was able to finish at 100% and pretty damn close to my target FTP. Mental math is always fun during Sufferfest videos but even moreso during the Tour. "Well I only have 30 minutes left, and that's only 6 intervals. The last one doesn't really count b/c I go all out, plus there is 2 minutes of rest between a couple of them, that's a lot! Heck, I probably only have go hard for 10 minutes and with all of that rest it will only feel like 5 minutes... Sweet, 5 minutes of work left! This is a piece of cake! Damn you Hushvod!"

I did surprisingly well with The Rookie.  It is my favorite video, so I have that one pretty down pat.  I'm ready to be done with Stage 8.  Only 4.5 hours to go....bleh!

I've rode them all at 100 so far. I was really surprise at how well I did on local hero. We shall see if my luck holds out tonight with The Rookie. Its my second favorite now so... here is hoping.

Stage 8 is going to suck.. I am just glad they broke up Revolver and half is easy with violator... lots of rest in Violator.

The Rookie is done...I backed off about 3% and plowed right through it.  That video is growing on me.

How are you all going to handle the sprint-fest tomorrow.?  I mean, isn't Violator technically impossible at 1:08 and 1.06 IF?  I figure at those speeds/watts what's a few percentage points anyway.

I am just going to hit them with all I have 100% until and if I pop I will lower the %

I did revolver and violator back to back in my Knighthood. it was not that bad the sprints are short. The end of Violator is the only issue. there in not enough time to shift in-between sprints. I usually just let me candace drop way low then power up again.

I have never done half is easy yet.

Hit it with all I got and hope I have anything left for ISLAGIATT I hate that video... in a good way.

I did not time my training phases very well, ToS should mostly be a lower intensity week for me. I've doing the videos at a mix of 80% and up to 105% meet my target zones for the week. I'm running a CompuTrainer at home and ERG mode has been a life saver this week. Tomorrow is going to be a long but I have a feeling it will go by quick enough given the frequent tempo changes. Supposed to re-do my FTP next week too. Gonna have to push that out a few days to make sure I'm fresh after the ToS.

This is also sending my annual training plan to hell in a handbasket, but I've wanted to do this challenge and  this is the first time I've healthy and fit enough to give it a whirl.

I'm thinking of re-testing after the ToS...question is how long should i wait.  Easy week then Friday or so?

I was going to do mine on Wednesday. Take Monday as a rest day go walking or other light activity. Tuesday easy spin for an hour or so, but I'm not thinking my legs will be 100% by Wednesday. Then I worried that going easy next week will dig more into my training schedule. Too much over thinking

I'm going to use the last week of a trainerroad base plan to recover and then test the following week.

Mon - Rest
Tues - Black
Wed - Volunteer
Thurs - Black
Fri - Rest
Sat - Andrews
Sun - Volunteer
Mon - Rest
Tues - Test

Then move into a Build phase on Trainerroad. Probably Sustained Power Build - Mid Volume

Welp, today was a mess but I got through it. Revolver was soild; set a 1-minute PR and hit about 95% of the target power on the intervals. Violator was fine until stage 3, and that's when the legs stopped working. Half is Easy was a mental game of just trying to hang on, and I had to do two-on, one-off in order to just hit somewhere near 90% of what the targets were. That stage was bat $#)t crazy.

I killed it today all stages at 100%

However I think my FTP needs a revisit. I am on a bike (new to me) that I just picked up a few weeks ago. I tested my FTP a week before the tour to 288 Down from 338 (that seems high to me anyway) However... I have another thread going with bike fit advice... I have made several adjustments throughout the week that have maximized my power output and increased comfort while on the bike. At least that is what I am guessing!

I could barely maintain the 100% at the end but I still gave it all.

Might finish tonight instead of tomorrow morning.

I finished the tour at 100%. WOOT WOOT. Going to do rubber glove at the end of the week. I am positive my FTP went up at least 10w.

Congrats to everyone who finishes.  Today's stage was actually my favorite...cool video and that "just under FTP" work is in my wheelhouse.

Definitely didn't finish everything at 100%, especially yesterday's sprint fest, but that was a fun ride for 10 days.

Don’t forget this is an incredibly big year for sport with the Olympics back in Athens where the modern Olympics started, and especially triathlon to make its second appearance.
