Subject: Aero Bars or a second hand bike
I currently have a BMC TMR02 2014. It is a pretty decent road bike and is pretty similar to their TT bike. I have just completed my second 70.3 and doing one more in 6weeks before doing a full IM in May. I was wondering what people would suggest either:

1) Buy a second hand TT bike say a Felt B2 Pro 2010 for about $1900

or

2) Put aero bars on my BMC and then take them off all said and done about $1000.

I am really struggling with the choice as the BMC is a good bike and so is it better to have the geometry a little out and a superior bike than an inferior bike with the geometry better.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
GA

You not get clip on bars on the TMR02 and keep the drop bars you already have?

I have them but of the IM it is a technical bike course so having to change gears on drop bars in a real pain. That is my motivation for the question.

Why not get Di2? That way you can changes gears from both positions. If you don't mind used, you can easily get DuraAce7970 (10 speed) and a good set of clip ons for that budget

I read somewhere about "bar ends" to put on your handle bars, do you recommend them? Is this similar to adding clip on aero bars?

You can spend a small fortune on these pre-wrapped bundles of energy, thinking they offer magic ingredients-not true. “Energy” simply means “provides calories” and not “will make you feel energetic."
