Awesome- I have always wanted to know how to work a sewing machine into my workout area .

Love the spaces! I gave up my gym membership as I just don't want to do that body building type lifting any more, I want an endurance body. I've got a stability ball, 15lb kettlebell, step, dumbbells and an old bowflex my hubby claims he will use one day.
Got a trainer for the holidays working up to a spinivals tape that I got with it.

This is one side of our family room. Other side has the couch and TV.

I will have you know that infact its a mechanical thread injection machine - much more manly than a simple sewing machine

To update! I'm slowly getting there. Painted the walls and laid down the gym floor tiles over the weekend - plus got the treadmill down there. Next step is getting a TV for the shelving, hauling my bike/trainer and other equipment down there and accessorizing a bit.

The paint color is much darker than I anticipated (told you I suck at picking paint colors) - I was going for dark gray and it looks more like gray/blue/black but it works.

That's awesome. I've been tinkering with how to put together some kind of half dome and use my digital projector to display a virtual ride for an immersive imax spin session. I'll post it if I ever get it to work

The floor tiles were BY FAR the easiest part of the project! Literally you just lay them down and interlock them like puzzle pieces. No adhesive or anything. The ones I ordered come so that any square can be a corner or edge, and you just remove those pieces if you don't need them. They also cut nicely with a box cutter for the odd-shaped areas. So happy with my decision to get that floor!

What brand flooring?  How much per sq. foot? How big are the tiles? Any other colors?  (sorry of you already answered in another post)  It looks great!  We are tinkering with the idea of replacing the carpet in our home gym.

$0.95/square foot and free shipping. The tiles are 2' x 2' - LOTS of colors!
My room was just over 300 square feet so I spent a little more than $300 on the flooring.

Looks good Lisa. You going to keep the paint color or try another one to brighten it up a bit?

I'm done painting It's darker than I expected but I don't hate it.
Going to put some stuff on the walls to break it up and I ordered this wall decal. In pink
Got a TV hooked up and on the shelving last night. Almost there!

We are in the process of finishing our basement exercise room right now, so no pics yet. It is about 14' x 18' with about a 5' x 3' notch out of one corner. We went with roll-out rubber flooring (4 x 50' rolls). It is black with light specks in it to hide dirt, etc. better. Wall color was picked to be light and compliment the other basement colors. We are wall mounting our TV with a "floating" shelf underneath it for the cable box and dvd player. We will have a bench, dumbbell rack, medicine balls, spot for stretching/yoga area, treadmill, recumbent bike and my bike trainer in there. Small fridge for cold water and a small shelf unit for storing towels and other stuff. Will post pics when done in about 3 weeks we hope - excited!

Looking at Tri related posters, etc. for my soon-to-be finished exercise room. What do you think of this one?

love this set up. i'm pretty sure i saw the build pics you posted elsewhere.

do you have another picture of the pull-down type machine in the corner? i'm looking for a pull down/row machine -- i've got something picked out that will work with my set up, but that one you have looks really low profile. i'd like to check it out. looks too low to use for lat pull downs but i can't really tell.

thanks.

I like the pool. I am not in love with it. I am a back of the pack swimmer and I hate going to the local pool. So if I wanted to keep doing triathlons it was my only option. I would not buy a new one and pay someone to install it. That would get very expensive. I picked it up used for 2k and bought new parts for it and did all the installation myself with no clue what I was doing.

The corner weight machine is like 20 years old. To do lat pull downs you have to get on your knees. It really does not work well for that. But here is a picture for you.

Haha Well just another update my wall decal (in PINK) is up, and I love it. Could have turned out a number of different ways but the gray/pink makes me smile.

Lisa are all of your walls and ceiling this dark?  Just curious as it seems like it would make my room too dark.

As the fog cleared, the buoy that I first saw earlier in the morning was just the first marker in a very long line of buoys that stretched across the lake like a runway for a 747 jetliner.
