The first week ended. There was the first question.
I have few short intervals for bike & run.
Whether not too early? Only beginning of a training season.
Start A only 2 August.

Not sure. If the "intervals" are very short, (one minute or more likely 20-30 seconds) they may be more like strides or quick spin-ups on the bike, where the focus is more on proper form or leg turnover rather than the aerobic endurance required by longer repeats. You'll find that many programs begin speed work with strides/spinups or sets of stride drills. They help get the body accustomed to the mechanics of running at higher speeds/pedaling at higher effort at minimal injury risk, plus marginally up the aerobic demands of an otherwise easy run or ride.

Hello everyone

Can someone help me with the definition of "pull" in the swim training?

Thanks.

Put a pull-buoy between the legs, use only arms. Paddles optional.

Ok, I've been using this plan all along and am now 1.5 weeks out from race day. A couple of questions...

1. I've got an 80 min tempo run this sunday (where they conveniently left out how long the tempo part should be). It shows 15 min warmup and that's it, so I'm guessing it should be 15 min warmup, 50 min tempo, 15 min cooldown. Does that sound good for a run one week out? Should my tempo section be my hopeful race pace?

2. Tuesday I've got a run with 5x1 min fast. How fast should fast be? 5k pace? Mile pace? With this plan there has been almost zero going fast and this worries me a little only a few days before the race. I think I'd be fine going at 5k pace, so I'll probably just do that (and I'm probably over thinking it too). Thoughts?

Thanks

Executing this full Ironman plan for 17 weeks would give people with one Ironman under their belts very good preparation for a 2nd and 3rd. Preferably, you should have a 6:30 or faster HIM time.

This Intermediate 20 week plan is a quick ramp up in overall volume, but with 20 weeks to train only, it is a gradual and safe approach because of the alternating weeks of the long run/bike.

The schedule consists of 3 workouts per week in each sport, 2 days of strength training and core work too. The maximum volume is around 7 hours toward the end of the 12 weeks.
