Hi Everyone,

I've signed up for a super sprint tri in April - my first ever tri! I've been reading lots of reviews on wetsuits, and the only thing I've learned is that I'll probably have to go try on a few to find the best one for me. Does anyone know a good place in Houston or the surrounding suburbs that carries decent brands of suits?

Thanks!
Kathy

Tru Tri Sports in Cypress has a couple brands and an endless pool to try them out in.

I think they sold their endless pool, but yes they have a few brands.  Bicycle World of Houston is right down the road from you at Memorial and Dairy Ashford.  They have some too.  If you go in to town Tri on the Run would have some too.

Tri on the Run also would have some for rent as well. Not saying you should do that, but I wish I had. I bought one based on feel at the store, and that thing TEARS my neck up when I swim over a 1200 yards or so. I notice nothing in the first 0-1000 yards. But after my last few races I have "irritations" that take weeks to go away and a $300 (or whatever I paid) wetsuit that isn't returnable. That being said, I do believe I am in the minority when it comes to issues this bad.

Good with your first TRi!!!

Justin

I have pedals with the cage and when I ride 2+ hours my legs feel much more tired then if I took out my husband's bike with clipless pedals. Do clipless pedals truly make the difference?

I'm doing my first tri Saturday. It starts at 7 AM and the forecast is calling for a high of 82 (air temp). Do I need to rush out and get a wetsuit?

This is a 'first impressions' review of the Fit2Race Sockeye Fullsuit. From a first wetsuit point-of-view, I was able to dramatically improve my pace over non-wetsuit swims.

I started riding this spring with the Carnac shoes on Look pedals (with plenty of float). About five minutes into a ride I get sharp pain on the outer edge of my feet, just behind the pedal.
