I swear I read it before but can't locate it on the search function. What do you recommend for recovery / retaper time between half ironmans?

Planning on Racine 70.3 on July 19th, and while I am in the swing, looking to schedule a second one in August? Would August 9th be too soon? (Steelhead)
Planning on running Racine around 6:30-6:45, and would be fine with that same pace for the second one in August.

Have you done the distance before? How did your recovery go after that race?

I do not believe there is a firm rule. Some people have a will do 2 HIM in that period and be fine with it.  It has a lot to do with current fitness and how quick you currently recover.

With that said, if I wanted to be at my absolute best for both races I need about 6 weeks between that distance, but that is just me. After a HIM I feel I need more than 3 weeks to feel optimal

It will completely depend upon your fitness level.  There really is no cookie-cutter answer.

Some folks would struggle to do two in 8 weeks, I know a few people that have rocked the heck out of a course in back-to-back weeks.  It all comes down to fitness, training, and recovering like a boss.

I am running Boston in April and Ironman Lake Placid is in July. I have been told that it is ambitious to think about doing an IM so close to a marathon due to the recovery time. Any suggestions?

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.
