AM One hour trainer ride with some max intervals--ouch!
PM--3000m of the spaciest swim workout ever. I had some upsetting family news but really wanted to get the workout in as I won't be able to swim over the weekend. Clearly my mind was not on the workout:
400m warmup (so far, so good )
10 X 200m, odds swim threshold effort (3:16-3:20 ) with 30 seconds rest, evens pull with paddles, 15 seconds rest. Felt physically good and all was going well until halfway through repeat #8, when it suddenly occurred to me that I'd never even gotten a pull buoy and was just swimming with the paddles! Got out and did the rest of #8 and #10 as planned.
On to the 200m IM kick--then discovered that I never got a kick board either. At that point was too lazy to get out again, so I just did it without.
Did a 200m warm down, and then remembered I was going to do a final set of 6 X 50m to get 3000m. Did 3 X 50m, 50m warm down, and called it a day.
For some reason, although the workout included 1000m of pulling and kick set, it never occurred to me to get either kick board or pull buoy. I did get some fins (they're on a different side of the pool ), intending to use them for the cooldown, but nothing else.
