Good Luck! I'm doing my first this year as well. IM Boulder for me. It's amazing how motivating that IM a few months down the road can be when it comes to daily training. I don't know if it's the excitement to participate or the fear of not being prepared, but missing a workout seems like a fool's errand these days!

Well come to the first timers club! I am training for my first (IMTX) and I have never been training so consistently in my life due to being excited/nervous/terrified. I am 82 days out and it has already been quite the journey. Best of luck!

I'm racing IM Boulder as well, but it won't be my first IM. Number 11 actually.

My advice: work on you limiters. Get some OWS practice. Race some local shorter races as a training race. Do a half IM six to eight weeks before your race. Don't bore everyone you know talking triathlon 24/7.

Deciding on an Ironman as my first venture into triathlon was greeted with incredulity and astonishment combined with a hint of, "well, you're full of yourself aren't you?" and, "a bit ambitious?"

I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.

I just completed my first Ironman season and I was free of injuries. I am now just messing around when I run at a fast pace (for me), I get a shooting pain in my right knee.

I am running Boston in April and Ironman Lake Placid is in July. I have been told that it is ambitious to think about doing an IM so close to a marathon due to the recovery time. Any suggestions?
