Driven by the awful weather here and the lack of a car I decided to do some office stair repeats at lunch today. So while the GPS tracker only shows less than a km of walking at lunch in between that were ten or so sets of climbing and descending the 4 floors of our building.

I am surprised at what a good workout it was. I am hoping the climbing will build some strength and the controlled decent should help with shin/foot strength and balance. Mild HR intervals can't hurt either.

Getting really annoyed with the snow on the ground outside and the lack of my own transport so had to find something to do. Got a few funny looks but who cares.

I thought this was going to be about swimming

I am getting bad cabin fever. We don't have much snow, but we have thick ice that is going to take forever to melt. I run in the snow, but not on ice. I am tired of swimming, and just want to go for a trail run or a nice long bike ride. My training has sucked for the last week because I am hitting the February funk and losing motivation.

I run and ride in the snow and ice. Not fast but it's a good work out. Beats the treadmill!
