Subject: SPD Cleats question Hi,
So I'm very new to triathlons and have only done 1 with my regular running shoes for the bike. Recently, I decided to get dual platform pedals (http://www.amazon.com/Shimano-PD-M324-Clipless-Clip-Pedals/dp/B001AT33CW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1424909836&sr=8-3&keywords=dual+cycling+pedals ) and Pearl Izumi Tri Fly Cycling shoes...
So I didn't realize that the only combo that'll work with those pedals and shoes are SPD cleats (rookie mistake? ). I do NOT plan to do a fly mount (I've only read about those and that frightens me ). But will I be able to walk in the SPD cleats on those tri/road cycling shoes? I'm not sure if the ground will ruin the cleat or if it's dangerous to walk in during transition, because they stick out of the sole. Anyone else experience this or have any advice?
Thanks |
