I love mine, but only as a baby 920xt, not as a smartwatch so I don't really care what gets added as an app.

Battery life is great, the size is really awesome. I have small wrists and the 920 just isn't a good fit. I've run with a 410 for years but have never tracked swim workouts. It's nailed both 2000m sessions perfectly (I just leave it paused for the likes of kick board). On training OWS I'll just put it in the swim cap. Never liked carrying a phone on a run so I turn bluetooth off and get even better battery life. If I ever get to do a long course, I'll just leave it on the bike and with a portable charger for the first 60 miles.

I guess I lack imagination into what would be an actual app worth getting (apple has the same problem), the only good ones aren't going to be allowed by Garmin (no way they let you go from s/b/r in one app, or add open water swimming anytime soon, they'd kill their high end watches)

Without the iwatch competition, the VA would easily be a $400 watch. They created hardware capable of being the perfect 70.3 watch, the only thing limiting OWS or multisport is the software, they just don't want to kill their high end sales, so it's neutered. It's not low margin by choice.
