Subject: Hi from Kansas
Hello, I'm new to this forum and new to triathlons as well.

I used to be a fairly avid runner but had various injuries which plagued me and I decided to try cross-training with swimming. This lead me to the idea of trying to do a triathlon.

I enjoy running the most, but I also like swimming. I really hate biking, but am hoping that as I get better at it I'll like it better.

I'm signed up for my first sprint tri on July 25 of this year. I picked that date because it coincides exactly with the end of my 16 week training plan that I got off this website.

Like I said, my main concern right now is the bike. I feel pretty good about the swim, but I really wish I knew how to do a proper turn-around. That's the main thing that I feel I'm lacking at the moment. I think I'll be fine on the run.

Anyways, glad to be on board, hope to have some good discussions with everyone here!

Welcome to BT! Fellow Kansan here, check us out in the state forum as well. We keep a running local race list there (duathlon also) in case you get the urge to do a trial run before July 25. I was in the same boat as you some 6 years ago. I now like the bike as much as the swim and run, sometimes more it seems. Enjoy the ride
