Wonder what the temp range is. for winter running I need to keep my iphone warm or I get a temp warning. That would be hard to do with a watch.

Saw this earlier today:

I guess that likely explains some of the supply shortage.  The sad part is that I was all over this watch when it was first released and really wanted one.  The more delays they've had the more I've cooled on it.  Wonder how that will pan out for others.

I won't be an early adopter - mainly because of this:

I'm 26.....what's a watch?

Other than use for training purposes, why buy an 800 dollar thing that does literally nothing for you that your phone doesn't.

You can buy a nice set of wheels with that....or pay for an ironman that you don't want to train for!

Yeah its kind of funny.  My father goes nowhere without his watch.....I've had a cellphone since I could drive, and it always told me the time!

Wonder if apple is targeting the older generation, or is trying to have the younger generation add some electronics to their arsenal.

I always find the generational differences with watches interesting as well.  As a kid growing up in the 80's my watch was really the only "geek toy" I had, so it was all about the watches.  I had a calculator watch, and then a pac-man watch where I could play a video game on my watch, then I got a watch that could tell the temperature... OMG, I was sooo cool.

I've had a watch on my wrist from the age of maybe 4 or 5 on and couldn't imagine living without one.  For me, it seems silly to even contemplate using my phone to tell the time because it is horribly inefficient to get it out of my pocket and click the button versus just glancing at my wrist.  No matter where I'm at or what setting a quick glance at the wrist tells me everything I need to know about the time.

I think where the cultural divide happened was the cellphone generation having cellphones first, so they learned to get the time from their cellphone.  Hence, why do I need a thing on my wrist to give me the exact same info I have on my phone.  So, for the younger generations watches are just silly and unnecessary, whereas for us older guys who have always had watches the cellphone is just silly to use for telling time (and slower).

That being said, watches are so dead in the next 20-30 years.  lol

I'm fine with my $200 garmin and flip phone. Spending $1000 plus on a watch is absurd.

P.S. I like that bible verse too.

Dang it, I wasn't going to buy one but ordered it anyways.  /embarrassed

We have been really busy here the last couple months and I have a bunch of apple fanboys that work for me, so I ordered the whole team Apple Watch's as a thank you.  When I was at the store ordering them I just couldn't resist the space black one, it looks so dang good.  lol
I'm sure it will be a couple months before it gets here, but I couldn't resist the temptation.
