Subject: Hi, new wannabe here Girlfriend and I are anticipating a full summer of athletic events to include a few sprint triathlons and a half Iron man. We have been training hard through the winter and looking forward to racing. We completed out first OCR of the year in March and placed (me ) 4th in my age group 43+ and she placed 3rd in her age group 42.
Biking is something new to me and haven't been on a bike for more than 10-15 minutes in the last 20 years. I have spent a good deal of time on bikes at the gym and conditioning is not going to be a major issue. I experienced an epic crash last night as I attempted to transition to my aero bars... Nothing injured other than my pride as my 13 year old son was right behind me and couldn't stop laughing as I did a shoulder roll and came up ion my feet with a huge roll of turf hanging off my shoulder..., but I'm obviously missing something here. Any words of advice on transitioning to aero bars?
Thanks
Steve & Paula
