Hey BT!  I missed you!  :-)  Susan, I was actually in Scottsdale!  We were in the McCormick Ranch area.  We left the house once to eat and Blanco and then we hit the Rusty Spur.  Rest of the time was hanging out at the house giggling like 12 year olds!

Taper Week!

4:15am:  45 minutes on the KK

5:00am:  20 min run

5:30am:  30 minutes strength

I am reducing my IM workouts by 50% this week to prepare for St. George 70.3 on Saturday.  Will reduce 50% next week as well to recover and then ramp back up for IM CDA!

Have a great day!

Sleeping in--sorta--this week as finally on spring break. 3100m of swimming this AM in health club pool that was rapidly approaching bathtub temps. So nice to loaf my way thru breakfast afterwards. Starting pre-taper with somewhere less volume than last week. Good luck at St. George!

It seems for me lately that I'm waking up around 0200. I mean wide awake, no going back to sleep. So I get up and get a workout in, get ready for work, and crash for an hour or so. Never had a problem waking too early in the past but the volume is up from last year. Anyone else deal with this?

0300 - 45m run on treadmill
Strength training tonight.

3.75mi run with dog and 1100 yard swim in the backyard pool.  Need to get to a real pool and/or start OWS as I'm getting sick of 10 yards, stop, 10 yards, stop, 10 yards...

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
