Subject: Weight Training
What types of weight training routines (if any) do people use to supplement their regular swim/bike/run training?

I've heard arguments for high weights/low reps, low weights/high reps, and HIIT with medium weights/medium reps combined with shorter rests.

I'm leaning towards HIIT: 10 sets of 10 reps, with about 20-30 seconds rest between sets.

I go heavy in the off season for strength purposes. Also, I like to add strength without adding bulk, and low red high weight exercises tend to do this better.

When I'm getting deeper into my race season, I pull back on the intensity, otherwise it takes away from the quality of my key sessions.

I love bodyweight work during the season though!
