So, it's not some fancy TT bike. It's actually a cheap craigslist purchase I made. It was a solid bike but cosmetically a little beat up. I had a vision and a fellow BTer, briderdt, helped me bring it to reality.

I disassembled the bike (with a little direction from Dave)

And then I had it powder-coated. After that, I purchased new pedals, grips and cables/housing (through Dave.) Then Dave reassembled it for me

Here is the before/after

I got a tool roll and a head tube badge for a little more...flair

More than anything this is a huge shout out to briderdt (Dave) for not only excellent work, but walking me through and not making me feel stupid for some of the questions I asked!

Thanks! It was a fun build. Little things:

* Crossing the cables under the top tube really helped out the routing in the front end.

* Having a variety of paints at my disposal for the touch-ups, like Plasti-Dip for the brake levers.

I never saw the "before" picture. I like the stealth look for an off-roader. And nice addition with the head tube badge!

That is so cool you got help from a fellow BT'er-- huge props. I love the color touches-- matching pedals and grips plus the color cable housings. Nice.

Oh yeah! I guess you hadn't seen how she looked before. Haha funny!

Yeah, all those little details really made it awesome. I love the feel of that plasti-dip. Oh, and the little touch of orange on the top cap on the stem was great!

Well, if the devil is in the details, then your build is down-right heavenly! The Designer Force is clearly strong within you, Salty. Really, really nice work!

Impressive. Way better than my most recent build. I have an old trek that is a tank, and it's sentimental. It needed cheap disc brakes and other bits... Lemme try to post a picture or two of it...
