Anyone following this guy? http://www.ironcowboy.co/#home

50 IM in 50 days in 50 states - sounds like an amazing challenge.  It should be interesting to see how he does.  I could barely walk the day after my IM, let alone do another one...

I am. I liked his Facebook page and his coach posted his Garmin numbers from his first day. Also he posted his live tracking there as well. Not sure if he'll make all 50, but pulling for him.

He's in my state today (Washington), about 20 miles from my house. I thought about going to ride part of the course with him, but I have to work.

There's a good interview with him on the Back Of The Pack podcast.

http://backofpack.com/2015/06/01/episode-79-the-iron-cowboy/

He says he'd like athletes to join him for part of his swim, ride, or run. It makes things more interesting for him.

I'm still watching this guy every other day. It's nuts. He only sleeps around 4 hours a night...

He did one, or some of his marathon runs on an elliptical. I my books that doesn't count as completing a marathon.

He is in my home town, (St. Joe) today. Joined in for the swim but they moved it from Lake Michigan to the local Y because of rough conditions. Had about 10 show up for the swim. Kind of a buzz kill to just be swimming laps in a pool as opposed to a group on the lake. Still was kind of cool though. Had to work for the bike portion, don't know about showing up for the run yet. Facebook showed about a group of 20+ for the bike.

Yeah, I could see doing the run on a treadmill because that is in fact running but an elliptical?!?!  Overall though a pretty impressive streak.  I can only imagine the logistics that this all took to put together.

Looks like he is going to make it. #48 today in Wyoming. An amazing feat to say the least!

I just heard of this today on the DC Rainmaker podcast.

It's definitely an overall impressive feat, and it looks like he's going to finish the 50. But it's kind of dumb that he did some of the runs on an elliptical. Did he say what his reasoning was for that vs. a treadmill? That's worse than if he did the bike on a LifeCycle gym bike.

My understanding is he wiped out on his bike and was having some trouble with his hip. I think he only did the one run on the elliptical.

I am more impressed with his mental fortitude to continually do this 50 days in a row...
