My husband is doing the Try a Tri and has been in the canal a few times this year without a wetsuit. What is the wetsuit mandatory temp? He is hoping not to need one but does not what to not be able to swim because he does not have a wetsuit.

Their website references the ITU rules for wetsuits so it looks like he should be fine for the try a tri - as the mandatory for races with a swim less than 1500m is 14C (but for the half he would need it)

I didn't know this ...

Yikes, MSC posted that water temperature was only 15 C.

As Jen posted above, its wetsuit optional above 14 C but bear in mind there is an adjustment if the ambient temperature is low.

But it should be OK at 10:30 on Saturday when the Give-it-a-Tri starts.

The water temp was perfect. It was a great day for racing.

My problem is I can only swim about 30-40 meters without having to rest. What is the best way to improve this? I need to get from 40 to 750 meters in 6 months.
