I have seen some pretty funny stuff in races, but this is funny! (Usually I don't laugh when I hear banjo's in TN)

 

especially around the 4:15 mark (hope he was in on it)

Maybe the same guys who were handing out whiskey shots beside the running trail at about 2 1/2 miles of my first "half-ironman"? (Long story, due to weather issues at altitude it ended up being a 29-mile bike and half-marathon instead.) It was in the 40's or low 50's and hailing at that point, and I was so frozen and miserable that I actually took one. (Have never had whiskey, or really any alcoholic drinks besides the occasional wine or beer, before or since.) I ended up having a good run. YMMV No live music from them, though, just a boom box.
