Subject: Rent Bike and great route needed in San Diego Hi all, going to be in SD around the 4th of July to visit our daughter. I've been given a green light to take a half day or so on Monday the 6th to rent a road bike and take a good ride. I'll have a rental car so bike pickup and driving to the start of a route is okay. Ideally I'd like a scenic 35-45 mile route that had some climbing . . . say 3000-4000 ft vertical with avg grades in the 5-6% range a bit of steeper stuff would be okay but the most I get to climb here at home are 500 footers at around 10% so I'd rather have some longer but not as steep climbs. Also prefer a route that doesn't have real crazy tight turns on the downhills and where I hopefully have wide shoulders and in general not a ton of car traffic. As far as the bike, here I ride a Trek Madone 5.2, but the rental doesn't have to be carbon, just good quality with the gears needed for the ride.
I know I'm asking for a lot, but any input is appreciated! |
