My new strategy on this swim is to find my friend and draft her the whole way :) She's a good swimmer and I trust her sighting. I may have been able to go a little faster but I figured I'd save my energy for the bike and run. (Don't worry, in return I'm going to help her with the tricky parts of the bike course)

Comments:

What I can't figure out is if my biking is slower this year and/or if it really is all the woodchips on the course. Either way my times are not as fast as last year but I still feel like I'm falling the same place in the pack.

I had a really good run - took off over a minute from last week - maybe there's hope for me yet :)

If your bike is slower, yet you are in the samespot as last year from a placing standpoint, I'd guess the course is slower. Have you compared other people from this year to last year?

Great job on the run!!!!

It's totally the wood chips.  Haven't you snuck out there with a shovel yet?!  Very cool working with your friend on the swim.  A minute off your run time?  That's awesome and definitely signs of improvement!  Can't wait for the next installment, keep up the good work!

I own both a road bike and a tri bike. I am wondering which bike I should be riding during off season training, or does it matter?
