Morning all!

Thought I would start the thread today since I didn't see one and Kim's enjoying her vacation and well deserved rest!

What's on tap today? Anyone have the day off?

My husband has the day off and we planned to take the kids down to Tempe to do some practice mountain biking (they both got new bikes) and I was going to run around the lake. BUT, weather was iffy and some thunder in the distance. Didn't want to take the chance, so bagged the idea.

I still had to run - so went out on the canal for 5 miles. Did some TRX when I got home.

SUPER sticky and humid here - not the dry heat that everyone talks about in AZ...was a sweaty mess when I got home.

TGIF!

I was supposed to have today off but am so busy had to put in time at the office.  Hosting a big Fourth party tomorrow with lots of friends and family so have a lot of prep work later today.

It is also hot and somewhat humid here.  I'm hoping to sneak out at some point and get a nice swim in.  Haven't decided whether to swim in the pool or head over to the lake.  So thankful I have options that are very convenient.

Have a safe and fun Fourth!!

Morning! 30 miles on the bike. Managed to get it in before the heat got too unbearable.

More on the spin bike today. The heat has been unbearable lately, often reaching 100 degrees. Tomorrow I'll wake up early, though, and get in my 25 miles on the road.

Indefinite rest until my doctor clears me to get back at it. I've been dealing with pain on the top of my left foot all week, so I finally went to my sports doc to have it checked out. She gave me two possible diagnoses - 1. sprain; 2. stress fracture.

If it's a sprain, I'll be good to go by the middle of next week (no running until then). If it's the stress fracture (which we'll rule out next week, hopefully), I'll be out a much longer period of time and probably won't get to do the half marathon in October.

Back on the bike today. Did a bike today, 5 km hard, 1 km easy. It was a great day for a ride. Met up with a threesome who were biking to Newfoundland. I talked to one of the guys but all he did was whine about the conditions of the roads in Ontario. It was surprising because any other cross country riders I've come across have been cheerful and accepting of the conditions.

I'm a teacher so off all summer! (Sadly, our summer break is a lot shorter than most US schools--only about seven weeks.) One hour trainer ride this AM, plus 2500m of swimming noon-ish. Really hot here as well--several 100 degree days in a row, which is a record for Eugene. Hoping to get out early tomorrow for last long ride before my race next weekend.

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
