Master  3888      Overland Park, KS |  Subject: Shawnee Mission Tri - Who's In?What day is it? What day is it? It's hump daaaaaaaay... Who's in for this Sunday? I"m doing the long course for the first time. Between KC Corporate Challenge and the non-rain outs of the traditional SM Tri I've done the short course a half dozen times so it's time a a change of pace. I heard there will be some banana like Shenanigans going on at the top of the dam hill, should be a fun day. |

| 6 Olathe, Kansas | Subject: RE: Shawnee Mission Tri - Who's In? I will be doing the Du. My first sprint tri was last September (Silverback - Lawrence) and wasn't in the pool enough this year to do the tri, so I am glad there is a Du option. I just wonder how many are signed up for it? |

I did HP3 on a wet morning there were only 55 that did the duathlon but wet roads scared many away I think. Good luck Sunday! |

Master 3888 Overland Park, KS | Subject: RE: Shawnee Mission Tri - Who's In? I asked and there were less than 50 signed up for the Du. Tri attendance is down from last year also. I heard less than 500 total will be out there Sunday. That's actually good in terms of bike navigation on the course. |

With the heat I drank too much water and just couldn't maintain a steady run. Had to walk a lot but still finished decent. |

Master 3888 Overland Park, KS | Subject: RE: Shawnee Mission Tri - Who's In? Nice work! That's a tough course no matter how you slice it. I finally stepped up and did the long course and had a good day. My swim was average, bike was solid and run went better than I expected given I've been averaging less than 10 miles per week this whole year. Since my friend Kevin was the overall winner and is in my age group that bumped me up to 1st in AG, I got 6th overall. Had the second fastest bike split of the day, by only one second. Actually the fastest bike split was this kid on a relay team that averaged...wait for it....25.5 mph for 4 laps. I think that kid is Cat 1/pro material for sure.
