What limited your ability to perform faster:

I hated the course and put absolutely no effort into it. I found it exceptionally frustrating and just wanted the day to end. If it wasnt for attending with a friend I wouldnt have shown up. By far this was the worst race I have ever taken part in and my performance reflected that.

Event comments:

really a poor representation of xterra. The trails were built this year and were extremely poor. When we arrived the day before we saw a back hoe in the woods. It turns out that it was clearing a section which was to become part of the trail the next day. I will not return to this venue again unless significant improvements are made.

Immediately I felt attracted by the challenge. I have done plenty of biking this summer and a new motivation, particularly toward the end of the summer, was what I needed.

My 1st triathlon, Xterra and the mess I made of myself. This wasn’t your regular triathlon, it was off-road.

The XTERRA off-road triathlons consist of a lake swim, a mountain bike trail ride, and a trail run. I decided to try the AZ Xtreme Desert XTERRA Tri as my 1st off-road triathlon, and my 3rd tri ever.
