Subject: Hi I am Rad. Hi everyone,
I am Brenden, or Rad! I actually just completed my first Triathlon a few days ago (August 8th 2016 ). It was a lot of fun and my friends who are triathletes are getting me into the sport fast and heavy ahaha. But first....
Four years ago, I had heart surgery. I had the Ross Procedure done, which long story short, I was transplanted with a new Aorta Valve from a human donor. I ended up breaking my sternum and having to be on bed rest for 6 months. When I finally was healed, I was 320 lbs. I got my on a bike and started running and now I am 220 lbs. My friend who is training for a Iron Man convinced me to to a triathlon and I trained for 5 weeks. I completed it in 2 hours and 6 minutes. I really took my time and didn't over exhaust myself.
So after the race, my friend has convinced me to sign up and train myself for a Half Iron Man. I signed up for the Chattanooga one in May 22 2016. I am one of those people who when I put my mind to something I will complete it! ahaha. But I am hoping I didn't bite off more than I can chew, however, I have a great support staff and a work schedule (I only work 3 days a week ) that will get me to complete this triathlon.
I am also hoping to go to Miami November 15 to do an Olympic one.
So any advice would be appreciated, I am especially concerned over nutrition. I need to get more educated on that! |
