Hey all! Ulf from Sweden here. 37 years with two kids, 5 and 7 years and wife. Began triathlon 2013 with a sprint after having some running issues. Thought i do some alternate training in the pool and on my bike. 2014 i did a olympic and was instantly hooked, registered for a 70.3 which i completed this year. I just recently registered for my first full IM aug 20 2016 which i will be training for all winter.

I took up running 2012 after many many years of thinking how i loved seeing other people run. I just had to "find the right shoes" and i would too be a runner. The thought of running a 10K was a distant dream that i hoped i someday would accomplish. A year later i completed my first marathon. I wasnt big or overweight, i was just lazy i guess. After taking up running my wife also runs and my kids too. Its really inspiring to see them all doing it.

I work in IT so not much walking and using my body at work but i work real close to a pool so i can get my swimming and running done during my lunchbreak or before work. I live about 35K from work so its a good commute on my bike also.

I tried lots of website and forums but this one stuck on me, reading more than posting atm but as i get more confidence in my sport i try to voice my opinion where i can.

I use a garmin Forerunner 920xt for all my workouts , log my excercise on Garmin connect and (mainly) Sporttracks ( http://sporttracks.mobi/users/ulflundh)

Thanks and see you in the forums

The 35km commute with be great training (hoping you have shower facilities at work!), a great way to add km to your training.

I just finished the NYC marathon on Sunday and I think I'm going to venture into triathlons. I am doing an Olympic distance and I want to do a 70.3 next year too. Any advice?

It’s just so discouraging to know that within a few more weeks those New Years’ Resolutionists are going to quietly disappear.
