Is anyone doing this?

I'm thinking about jumping out during my lunch break and doing this. My training plan already calls for a 12 miler, so I'm thinking it may be fun, support a good cause and beat getting up at 4am to run before work (as usual).

There are 9 of us doing the 9:11 relay. Hoping to break the record of 78 miles. Luckily for you guys we wont be in our banana hammocks for this. Come by and hang out at our tents if you do it.

We take turns running one mile loops for 9 hours and 11 minutes. We try and get as many miles in as we can in that time. One runner at a time.

Ah, I see. That's pretty cool. Admittedly, I don't really know much about this event and just recently even heard about it. You should make the final mile for each runner a beer mile to add some more intrigue.

Wow, that's awesome. They comes out to something like under 7 Min miles...if my math is right. Pretty impressive. Props to you all.

I had a great time and want to do that one again (although I'll plan a little better next time). Very neat event and seeing the military runners, flag runners, and challenged athletes was pretty inspiring. It made the time go by quick. Weather was ideal too.

Is gear overlap from the big to small ring a consideration? Will the ratio increment of the compact setup be very beneficial to my riding?
