My wife has been struggling with PF for the past 9 months, some good periods, but mostly painful and some debilitating days. She has tried the walking boot for day and night and PT, no sustained improvement. She is now considering Shockwave Therapy or Laser Therapy. Anyone here tried it? If so, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

There was recently a discussion here on PF:  http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=535792&posts=19#M5140209

There's a lot of really good information in that thread.

The biggest thing I emphasize with athletes and PT clients of mine who get it is that it's not something to mess around with, because the worse it gets, the more difficult it is to get over, and the longer it tends to linger.  IME, most of the time when it lingers it's because the person is only doing 3/4 of the things they should to fix it.  In part, this can be because there are times that even though there is no pain, they're still doing harm by being on their feet.

Five years later, I'm still fighting it. Plantar fasciitis. It's back again in both feet. Running is out. I have been swimming and cycling only the last five years. How do I deal with this?

I have had Plantar Fasciitis in both feet for 5 years, orthotics have finally helped where I can run again. Are there recommendations beyond ice and stretching?

I think I have Plantar Faciitis? The bottom of my foot is sore in front of the heel in the mornings. It sort of gets better during the day, I can run without increasing in pain.

The bottom of my feet, more specifically the arches, have been sore off an on for a couple of weeks. Should I be worried? Anything I should do to prevent this?

Often pain occurs with the first steps of the day or at the beginning of a run when that tight fascia gets stretched and microtears occur. But pain can also develop with prolonged standing and worsen.

Heel pain, especially in runners, is usually due to plantar fasciitis. The plantar fascia is a band of connective tissue on the bottom of your foot that stretches from the heel to the ball of the foot

I have bone spurs in my left heel. It's painful first thing in the morning. Sometimes my heel will bother me running, or on the bike. I feel as if the heel is holding me back.
