Subject: Open Street Maps

Lucky boy that I am, the missus has bought me a Garmin 810.

A quick scan on the web shows there is a great little site that takes OSM data and provides it a really usable format for loading onto your bike GPS

I'm in no way affiliated too this guy, just think it's worth sharing as it's saved me a quite a few quid. Whats the price now for Garmin mapping - £70 a pop?!

I believe the new 1000's come with maps from openstreetmaps pre-loaded instead of the Garmin maps. Ive used them on my regular GPS for some time now. Definitely much cheaper than the Garmin maps!
