Wow, Wednesday already!  This week is flying! (so much alliteration so early!)

4:45am:  30 minute walk.  Decided it was time to give the legs a bit of rest

5:15am:  45 minute strength training + core

Have a great day!  Oh, who's following Kona on Saturday?! I'm pulling for Potts and Rinny, although Kessler would be great too!

5:20 AM One hour trainer ride
6 PM: 35 minutes of strength stuff

Hoping to follow Kona, but I need to figure out the time difference. I think much of the action happens overnight here. I remember a few years ago (2013?), I was on a bike trip, but we (kinda sorta, third world style) had WiFi at the hotel, and after breakfast I managed to get the live coverage streaming just in time to see Rinny run the last mile or two and win it. Another year I did some kind of wacko brick workout where I was trying to get back in time to see Chrissy Wellington win.

Morning!

Love Rinny but Meredith is such a great personality too! Can't wait to watch the race!

Well, trying to get into normal training again after a slight taper last week and my OLY this past weekend. Great news is that I
got 1st place Female OVERALL in the OLY race (there was a sprint, sprint plus and a duathlon going on at the same time. )

It was a VERY small field because this race is touted at being the hardest sprint and oly tri's in Arizona. Done up at Bartlett Lake, you are either going UP or DOWN - 3600ft elevation gain total…and it was tough, but climbing is my strength on the bike so I enjoyed it.

I'll write up a race report with all the details, but I was pretty excited. Now I'm just sore from the downhill running, my shins hate me and my left hamstring is pissed.

Today went out for a 60 min run with 35 min of Tempo, but my legs are still tired and my hamstring didn't like that so at mile 4 had to slow way down and just slow run the rest of the way. Thank goodness I'm getting a massage tomorrow!

Hoping things clear up quick…I have a big weekend coming up…4 more big weeks until taper - OMG!

Run and swim workout tonight with the tri team. Saturday will be very busy for me. First, I have a cross country meet at 8 o'clock. Then, I have to rush to a bike rally that's 30 min. away. I'll be riding 56 miles through the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. It'll be really tight, but hopefully I'll make it before the ride starts at 9 o'clock. Maybe the meet will be pushed sooner or the ride will be pushed later? Only time will tell.

First female!!! Well done!!! I take all the credit for that of course since I gave you a big good luck. Can't wait to read the report.

4 miles for me today. I found a network of trails near my house that I never knew about before. Kinda nice to add some variety.

Thanks for the reminder about Kona, Kim. I'll be tuning in and cheering for Andy. He's such a cool guy. I met him when he won Lake Placid a few years ago and he was a really nice person to all the fans that wanted their picture taken with him (yes, including me.) Glad I'll also be watching it from home instead of work. When I worked at Fisher Price a few years ago I was streaming it at work and got an angry phone call from the IT department for taking up too much bandwidth.

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
