Mine is currently 12 w/about 500 feet of climbing on the way home (D.C. really is like a swamp). We're moving & will now be 20 miles one way w/just under 1,000 feet of climbing on the way home.

I have about 21 to work and 25 home. I normally drive my bike to work in the morning (I get to commute with my wife) and bike home 3 days a week in the spring / summer. Its almost 1500 feet of climbing - a lot of the Columbia Tri bike course - so a great afternoon workout. Occasionally I'll bike in also, but that is a long day.

On the long bike rides of 80+ miles I get very strong pain in my toes. I slow down my pace and I might recover, but when I hit the next hill it is back. Could this be some kind of circulation issue?

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

Most of those thinking about tackling a long swim instinctively feel it’s necessary to Do much to build endurance - more yards, harder laps. But a focus on Receiving is ideal for long distances.

The most valuable thing you can do for your endurance training is to schedule a weekly 2-4hr long ride from now until the end of time. Simply make this “what you do” every Saturday or Sunday morning.

My question is on nutrition in a long race. Most intake will occur on the bike, but I'm curious as to the details. I didn't do real well in this area last year and really need to improve.
