Subject: RE: Just out of curiosity... I did 3 full Ironman races this year.
I swam 3 times per week, ran 4 times per week and cycled 4 times per week. I took no days off (Monday swims were "active recovery" days ). Saturday was long bike day with a short run afterwards and Sunday was a medium length bike with a medium length run. Thursday were my long run days (topped out at 18 miles ). I never went much more than 15 hours in total each week.
I spent the first 4 months of the year training for the Fargo Marathon (May 9th ). I was trying to Boston qualify so I was putting in huge running time/miles. I was still swimming and biking, but it was a run focused 4 month block. I needed 3:45 to BQ, I got 3:10. It was my first stand alone marathon.
