Good morning BT Peeps!

4:45am:  :45 mins on the KK

5:30am:  :45 minutes strength training

Looking forward to my bus time today--I get a lot of reading in, unless of course my boys are asking me for girl advice, homework help, or how to stretch X muscle.  Love these kids.

Have a great day!

Yay indeed! Five hours of teaching plus seven hours of conferences yesterday, and another seven hours today. I just don't feel like talking to anyone for the next week. On top of that the pool was closed. Grrr.... It was interesting that four of my students mentioned some kind of distance running or swimming as their "personal goal". OMG I am corrupting the youth! One timid girl who has never shown any interest in sports said she's decided to become a distance runner "because it's not violent, you can just jog quietly in nature, and you're not going to get hit by a ball". Had to laugh--those were big factors in my own entry into endurance sports at her age!

One hour trainer ride with some intervals in AM, 40 minutes strength stuff PM. Walking home nearly became OWS due to flash-flooding after a torrential rainstorm!

School's out today for "state fair day". The school gives every student a ticket for the state fair and we all go today. Hopefully I can avoid whatever they decide to deep fry this year (I've heard they have fried sticks of butter). I have a 6 mi. run scheduled for this afternoon.

Are you talking about the Big Tex one in Dallas? Girlfriend and I are thinking of going next week. It looks huge.

Rest day for me, but I'll probably do some yoga and get my legs nice and loose. Long run tomorrow

Jumping in on the fun here...

60 minutes on the trainer this morning.

Possibly buying my first tri-specific bike this afternoon. Finally.

I've been battling injuries for the last few years, namely achilles surgery and I'm finally feeling normalish again. Ready to jump back in to multi-sport events again.

Some busy Friday's.
Out for some one on one swim coaching tonight.
Tomorrow is an exercise in carb loading ready for HM on Sunday. It will be my first ever, and the longest I've run (if I survive!)

Will no doubt provide an update here - target 2hrs

Happy Friday and happy weekend! (it's around the corner)

Unplanned rest day for me - got sick, first phase of flu :/ I hope to feel better by tomorrow, or at least Monday...

It's been a tough week. I was traveling and missed some workouts. I have the worse case of post ironman blues. My "get up and go"; has "got up and left" both mentally and physically.

I did do a 5 mile run today and a 45 min swim.

I need to get motivated.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Jamie- you would enjoy the Texas state fair. It's a good time.

Kim- Good luck with the football game and the CC meet. Our boys grew up in rural areas so I can relate to long road trips. Enjoy them because you do miss them when they are gone.

Yeah, it was the Big Tex, and it was pretty big. The midway was probably the biggest part of it. Everywhere you look there was someone trying to get you to waste your money playing their game or a food stand selling fried this or that on a stick. There were also quite a few rides; a lot of them seemed unsafe. For example, there was one that spun in a circle and flipped you upside down. I did give in and have a corn dog, but I don't think it affected me that much.

Just got back from a 4 day business trip. Did 1500 yds in the pool. Warm up, then did some 50s of back, breast and fly with 50 kicks mixed in here and there to catch my breath.

Wow, everyone is busy today!

Fridays are usually my long run day, but since my hamstring has been acting up, thought I would give it a few days to heal!

But slept in - until 6am - whoo hoo!

8:30am - Walked on the treadmill for about 1.5 miles with some short jogging mixed in. Felt ok but didn't want to push it.

45 min of ST, core and stretching

9:30am - Taught 45 min spin class.

Today is the start of Fall Break for my kids. Need to figure out how to fit in intense IM training AND keep them busy!

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
