I have tried several suggestions including spit, Anti_Fog solution, and Baby Shampoo, most work OK for a few hundred meters, but still fog up on longer swims. Does anyone know of a solution that will last thru an IM swim?

A diluted solution of baby shampoo and I don't take them off my eyes once they are on.  If I take them on and off, it starts fogging shortly after.

Spit rub on lenses then rinse with pool water and as said in previous post leave them on the entire workout. Once removed they do tend to start fogging up.

New goggles !  I keep a pair each season just for racing and the anti fog on them last since they're only being worn a few times and not handled a lot.  Plus they stay out of the chlorine.  Which probably won't help you if you have prescription goggles in which case like the others before me said, spit - rinse and keep them on.

I agree with what's been said about spit and not taking them on and off. The other thing that works for me is making sure my eye sockets are completely dry when I put my goggles on.

Once you start leaking and one little drop of water gets in they will fog.  Key is to find a pair that don't leak.  Also, put them on when your face is dry and keep them on the entire time.

How do you dry your eye sockets?!

Toothpaste works well on scuba masks, havent tried it yet on swimming goggles though....

New/sparingly used race goggles works best for me.

I found that things like washing up liquid, shampoo etc works really well, but it can depend on the brand. So try different ones.

First step is to prevent the issue. Always rinse your goggles thoroughly with cold water after each swim. Every. Dang. Time.

If and when you start to lose the coating, clean them thoroughly and use some anti-fog. As others have said keeping them on for the entire swim will help. Spit and rubbing are short term solutions.

I usually like to support local stores, but I buy goggles in bulk from online retailers (much cheaper) and switch them out when they start to go bad. They are one of the cheapest pieces of equipment I own. I also keep one pair in a case solely for racing.

Use baby shampoo diluted and let dry.

Other soap will work but the baby shampoo is PH balance so if(when water gets in you don't have to worry about your eyes burning.

Another vote for baby shampoo.  I rinse my goggles with fresh water as soon as I get done swimming and then wash them with baby shampoo and let them dry as soon as I get home.   As has been mentioned, leaving them on the entire time seems to help also.

Yeah, I realized after I wrote that it sounds kind of morbid and weird. Just to be clear, I do not pop my eyes out and swish a towel around my skull! I just use a towel to dry the area of my eyes that my goggles cover. I was trying to specify that the rest of my face could still be wet. :-)

Haven't tried toothpaste. Not trying to be funny, but what brand of toothpaste? lots of toothpaste is very gritty. We used it to polish brass buckles in the military.

Yep, fair question.

I've tried the blue stuff, the white stuff and it's normally Colgate. I have a vague feeling that the white stuff works best!

I've never used the gritty stuff on a mask before...
