Doing my final race of the year this weekend, so I finally clued into the packet pick-up times, bike drop-off, etc. I noticed that they are closing transition at 6:45 and my wave doesn't go until 8:15. Jeez, that seems like a long time to just hang out before the race begins.

The line for the toilet will be at least 1:15 of that

Giggled at the toilet remark, because it's true.
Hit the porta pottie, visualize your race, body glide all the things, make a new friend, cheer on the waves before you.

Good points about the porta potty. Mostly, I'm concerned about keeping warm. The water temp is 76 so I think I'll go without a wetsuit for the 400 yrd swim, so just hanging out in my kit for 1:30 might get a bit chill. Will stop by the goodwill for a toss-away sweatshirt to wear before the race.

My running friend told me the other day that her strategy is to take the big mylar emergency blankets that they pass out at the finish line, and use them to keep warm in her next race when she's waiting around for the start.

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"
