Subject: 11.24.15 Tuesday Training

Good morning BT!

4:30am:  65 min run: 1 mile WU/3X2000m @ race pace/400m RI/cool down. Felt stellar this morning!

5:30am:  :30 minutes HIIT plyos + core

Jamie:  re: Paleo. Basically on Nov 1 I started the Whole 30--stripped my diet way down to basics: protein, fat, veggies and small amount of fruit.  No sugar, no sweeteners, no protein shakes, etc.  Just real food.  I believe that's why my runs suffered initially--I had been running on lots of junk.   Today, day 24, I'm really feeling good.

Thanks for the tip Kimmy. I've been looking around on the Whole 30 website and have been writing down some recipes that look good. I'll let you know which ones knock my socks off.

Rob- yea I've been living in Austin for a while this year but I move all over the place. It looks like I may be moving back to Austin at least until February.

This is my recovery week.  6 mile run for me today. Have a great Tuesday everyone

The boys are home from college so no workout for me. We are close to being empty nesters so we enjoy our time with the boys when they are home.

Jamie- Do you move around in Tx or are you in other states also. What do you do?

Bike and run with lots of wind tonight. My normal 19-20 mph was turned into 17.5.

Mostly all over everywhere. I've moved over 30 times since college. San Fran, all over NY state, all over Massachusetts, Montreal, Vancouver, LA, Louisiana, just to name a few. I work in the film business and it's all contract work. When the movie's over, you move to the next one. Just the way it goes.

wow Kim, I'm impressed - Whole 30 is tough! Good for you though! I need to clean things up after eating a ton during IM training, but in all honesty, I didn't really change my paleo diet much even in the big weeks. I think my body comp stayed pretty much the same and during taper I think I lost weight. Everyone is different though.

5:15am - back to teaching my 60 min power class on the bike - so happy! I kept my intensity Z2 though, and took everyone else thru some threshold work with a big push at the end. Shared some IMAZ stories…so fun!

9am - 1800 yd in the pool. Enjoying my swimming these days without the huge sets and just swimming at a comfortable level.

Still a bit tired but energy is coming back slowly!

5 mile run easy today.

I also did the paleo 30 and lost 25 lbs. I leveled out +5lbs. my guess is muscle
