Left house at 6:45AM for 9:30AM start. Small bowl of cereal for breakfast. One RCS and one Mito also. Along with the 4224 5 mile runners were 3300 5K runners which made for a very crowded start and run until the 5K runners turned off at the mile and one half mark. Race started 15 minutes late; super big crowd of runners. Inadequate sound system at the race starting line. Could not hear any race instructions etc. Line up at the starting line was a free for all. During the first mile or so of the race, I encountered runners pushing strollers, runners running with their dogs and walkers who obviously lined up front near the starting line. This was the first year Hermes added the 5K. I don't think they were well prepared or expected 3300 additional runners.
