Good evening all!
In my bike shopping ventures, I've run across a local shop carrying a never owned 2015 Orbea Avant H50and a 2013 minimally ridden Orbea Aqua TSR. I'm upgrading from a late 90's Schwinn Super Sport, so most anything will be an upgrade. Does anyone know anything about these models and if they are worth a look?

More info: the 2015 Avant is $650, and the 2013 Aqua is $500. Original gear on both.

Just looking at list pricing, the price you are being offered seems pretty good. I haven't really compared those two models to others in that price range as far as the equipment etc. You probably know this already, but it is really important that the size and geometry of the bike you buy fits you well. You can always make some adjustments with different stems etc., but the basic size of the bike has to fit you personally. Some LBS know how to fit you and will be honest about the sizing. Some just figure if you can stand over the top tube with a little play it is good enough, not. The other thing I noticed is that both models are designed for a somewhat upright, more "relaxed" position. If you're older, have some back issues, or aren't very flexible, that might be what you are looking for. But, it won't let you get as aero as a more traditional race geometry and it isn't comfortable to everyone, so you want to check that out.
