I have been eyeing the Fenix 3 for a while. When they went on sale on black Friday I almost bought one, but told myself I didn't really need it and I should save my money and my old 305 would last me another year.

Well...NOW I see in the latest beta software release, they added a golf app to it! Now I think I am going to HAVE to buy it and pay $100 more than I would have two weeks ago.

I played around with the golf app when my software updated but didn't actually play golf because the golf courses are all closed for the winter and I don't golf unless I absolutely have to.

Anyway, the golf app did not look that impressive or that easy to use compared to golf specific watches I have seen.

You could probably save your money unless you are needing a good excuse to buy a new watch. The Fenix 3HR will be out soon. It might be nice to have too and non HR prices might drop then.

I upgraded twice now.

My 305 from 6 years ago didn't have the battery life I needed, and actually went completely dead mid-ride with no explanation, no response, only to later go straight back to normal, but with corrupt ride data.

It was about time, so I got a 310xt about 3 or 4 years ago?

LOVED it, though over the last year it's had many more uploading glitches, and other odd glitches that can be infuriating at times.

Played with a buddies 910xt and felt like I shot myself in the foot for not getting that one with the pool stuff.

Early December I bought a fenix 2, as I knew I wasn't going to be able to justify a fenix 3 with my wife, and so far I love it!!

310xt is still getting used as a bike computer that is more visible with the quick release, and a redundant copy of ride data, just in case! :p

I'd love a fenix 3 if it wasn't so expensive!

That all said, the 305 is still going, and now my kids use it!
