Subject: First season back In the past I used to compete in triathlon pretty good, even finishing Ironman Lake Placid on my 21st bday in 2012. I haven't competed since 2013 because mental illness took over and made life rough. I stuck through it all and now 3 years and 50lb later I'm getting back into shape and now I'm looking to get back into training. For the first time in years I feel motivated and spent the past few months weight training and only some swim bike and runs.
I'm looking to have a fun year but getting into shape is so hard! I can just barely swim 200 yds without stopping, mainly have been doing shorter intervals, I average about 800yds per session. I have been biking fine but slow outside and now on the trainer, I can do 45 minutes comfortably. Ironically my struggles are in running, it used to be my best sport and now I can barely run and walk 2 miles!
2016 will be a fantastic year though I'm so nervous because I lack any kind of real endurance and have never struggled like this to workout and train but heres to a happy and healthy new years@ |
