I am done for the day/year and ready to settle in for some football. Thought I would get the thread started. Hope everyone had a great 2015 and has a healthy 2016!  Within about 5 hours of my 2014 totals....lost some run volume in the Summer due to injury.

Couple more to go but this is basically it...

S= 185,650 yds (not entirely sure this is right but probably in the ballpark)
B= 3,650 miles
R= 950 miles

Bike and run lower than 2014 because of cracked ribs midway through the year.

2015 marked my first year slowly building back fitness after too many years being sedentary and gaining weight. I started back here on BT in May, with a swim focus. I'm really happy, as this is actually my best year ever, and I know 2016 is going to be even better.

Swim: 140064.98 Yd
Bike: 121.54 Mi
Run: 179.83 Mi

How worldly of you to include both units! If you're on the line, you should always use yards in the pool and kilometers on land...it makes you feel faster

Wow--That is a lot of swimming! I was quite happy with myself for breaking 365K for the first time (1000m a day average; actually I usually swim 3-4X a week. about 3K each time.)

Swim: 112h26m01s (369,100m)
Bit more than last year, mainly because almost all my limited travel was to places with good OWS!

Bike: 194h27m04s
Bit less than last year, entirely due to not doing the two bike tours I did last year. Actually trained quite a bit more, aside from tours. Mostly on the trainer due to traffic and work hours.

Run: 177h48m02s
A bit less than last year as I didn't train for a HM in December like I usually do. (Finishing up coursework.)

Strength: 61h10m (about 10 hours more than last year)
Kayaking: 16 hours (ought to count for something--works similar muscles to swimming)

Overall a solid year, I stayed healthy except for the occasional niggle; only one of my typical getting sick during taper incident,s though it was a particularly awful one. (Flu before my A race HIM in May, plus heat exhaustion; 30 minutes off best HIM run split.) Otherwise a decent year for racing with PB's for HIM and Oly. Hoping to race more consistently in 2016--I have two years of healthy, solid training for those distances now so hope I can do well.

This was my first year with over 1000 miles running since I started doing tri's in 2007.

Swim: 37h 45m 31s - 123592.05 Yd

Swim: 134h 21m 31s - 458366.78 M

Bike: 281h 55m 11s - 2800.24 Mi (does not include trainer miles)

Run: 198h 03m 08s - 1182.94 Mi (might include some aqua jogging that I counted as running)

Aqua Jogging: 32h 33m (stress fracture that took a solid three months to heal...)

Swim was up a bit from last year, bike was up quite a lot from last year, running was obviously lower due to the stress fracture.  Here's to hoping I can keep myself healthy in 2016 and see where the year takes me

Training hours were within 5 hours of 2014 total - not planned, I guess just consistent. Swimming was down by 60,000 yards this year but swim times are definitely improving, running is up by 150 miles this year, and running times are getting slower - go figure. Did two marathons so that lead to more running. Its still fun though and that's what counts.

Swim: 48h 43m 30s - 146,628.45 Yd
Bike: 103h 37m 32s - 1,891.66 Mi
Run: 192h 45m 30s - 1,403.47 Mi

I did minimal swimming and cycling- and have just been focussing on running.

2,200 running miles this year.  A 50mi trail ultra, the NYC Marathon, a half marathon in Kenya, and a bunch of shorter races.  Overall- a wonderful year of running.

    Most of those thinking about tackling a long swim instinctively feel it’s necessary to Do much to build endurance - more yards, harder laps. But a focus on Receiving is ideal for long distances.

    Good memories are crucial to your success in the water. Trying to swim laps before you are comfortable in the water is likely to reinforce your anxiety, so avoid the white-knuckle approach.
