Spent the morning playing games with the kids and watching some cartoons. This afternoon I'll get on the bike for a bit followed by more games, snacks and maybe a movie.

It's what you up north would call a dusting. About a foot and a half so far here outside Philadelphia.

Blowing snow, not going to the Richmond Endurance Athlete Symposium that was canceled, and having pizza.

I fit in a 9 mile trail run before the snow started. Followed by some nice down time in front of a warm fire, and enjoying a burger and a beer.

I've finally caved in and called it a blizzard as the snow just hasn't stopped. Gave up, let my car go completely under and getting on Virtual Training for a tempo ride on some route that has sunshine and greenery!

Nice.

One of my local athletes ran 10 today in the storm.  We have 28" on the ground now.

Goggling at the snow on TV. We actually had a "warning" on Friday from the Vietnamese weather service that temperatures here could drop "as low as 15-17 degrees C" (high 50's/low 60's F) due to a "polar express" type system coming down from Siberia affecting most of eastern Asia. Hanoi and Hong Kong are apparently miserable, below freezing, which is unusual for them, but the promised cooling has not materialized here at all. High 70's now at 7 AM. Only the strongest systems ever cross the Hai Van pass between Hue and Danang in Central Vietnam. Now they are backpedaling on the "cold front" to predict a low of 71 degrees tomorrow morning. Think we will survive.

Stay safe, everyone!

Did an open water swim/run brick. Living in AZ has its advantages.

That's funny!  It's warmed up here the last few days.  Right now it's 29 deg F.  Earlier this week it was about 15 deg F.  Those temps are only a little colder than normal for us, but the snow in the last 24 hours was a new record.

Wow! Supposedly some areas near the Chinese border were supposed to get snow. I just finished a brick run (after an FTP test--OUCH!) and checked the temperature as I felt miserably hot. 86 with a heat index of 89 (at 10 AM). That's a normal winter morning for us. I think my engine is just overheated.Wish I could go and roll in the snow right now. Just lying on the floor in the AC, trying to muster the energy to get up!

BTW Did anyone else last night notice the runner in the background of the CNN report on the storm in Baltimore? The guy was moving at a pretty good clip through rapidly falling snow along some kind of waterfront promenade. You never saw anyone else out there but the reporter and the runner. Kept wondering if it was someone from BT!

Niiiiiice ... wow, I haven't seen that around here for a long time! :D

I was dragging my feet, waiting 'til the very last minute to go out for a run and this is why ...

... that's Celsius on the weather display. I was looking like that BEFORE the run!

Translation for the non-scientific, non-Canadian be-blizzarded: it was 106F when I started the run (90F indoors) and then still 90F when I finished the run, just before dark.

I'm in Perth, Australia.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"
