Another beautifully sunny day, temp was 45*. I just barely managed to squeeze a ride in before I had to leave for my scuba class.

Saturday - 15/20 - Walk - 1h 20m 37s - 4.50 miles - 17m 54s /Mi
Today was a nice easy paced walk around the River Rd. For somebody w ho wasn't even trying I am rather happy to be breaking the 18m mark. Temps were only in the mid 40's, but there was no wind, rain, or other yuckiness.

16/20 - 1h 02m 11s - 13.00 miles - 12.54 Mi/hr
What a beautiful day for a bike ride! Three laps around the River Rd, working it reasonably hard, but more interested in having something left to finish three laps than killing the clock. 12.5mph isn't too shabby for me considering my fastest time on a real bike has been only 14.5mph.

All things considered, I am going to call February as success. It has been my best month since November at least. I hope each of you are also satisfied with your month. Beginning tomorrow I am going attempt to incorporate 0500 wake-ups and early morning swims into my schedule. You'll be able to see how that works out in next month's challenge.

Since today is a rest day and all I am going to do is some small amount of ab work. I am done for the month. It was not a great month in total number of workouts, but it was a great month in volume of training and great workouts when I did get it in. I had my first ever week of nearly 11 hours of training.... EVER!! And, I didn't die and I felt pretty good. So, evidently if you just keep moving forward and thinking you can, you can.

Onward towards a great March for everyone.

I just HAD to do this today, after all it is a leap year. Squeezed a gentle walk in between school and assuming "Grandpa duty", watching the 2½ yr old while teh 8 yr old goes to Cub Scouts with Mommy.

I'm curious about the 'don't increase your run by more than 10% per week' rule. Is there a minimum mileage under which this doesn't apply?

Executing this full Ironman plan for 17 weeks would give people with one Ironman under their belts very good preparation for a 2nd and 3rd. Preferably, you should have a 6:30 or faster HIM time.

How should I go about training for the marathon while also building base in the other two events? Doing this seems like it's causing me to break the 10% rule in running.

This Intermediate 20 week plan is a quick ramp up in overall volume, but with 20 weeks to train only, it is a gradual and safe approach because of the alternating weeks of the long run/bike.

Yes, the Dual is a little heavier than Cervèlo’s high end counterparts. But…the price is within reach of the masses and it still incorporates all of the design features that make a Cervèlo special.
